Can't Stop Geeking

With all these tablet computers coming out so close to each other, it makes it hard to decide which one is best. It seems like each one has some ideal functions that others don’t, but none of them seem to be the complete package. It makes me want to hold off until I can test each one out before buying.

A new year has started and the fun of predicting what the future holds is upon us.  The folks at inhabitat.com had some of their brightest minds offer some 2010 predictions. One editor, Sarah Rich, talks about how the invention of the digital tablet will affect the way we as a society consume media. If you read my previous post here, you’ll know what I think of these. I’m no great thinker, but I do hope Ms. Rich is off a little in her prediction on this one.

I love technology and any new gadgets fascinate me, but I worry about younger children. They are being brought up on technology so much that many don’t seem to know how to go outside and play. So, when I hear about stuff like this flexible tablet computer for children, I worry just a tiny bit. Kids are already getting computer education in school and most have traditional family computers in their home. Does this same child need a computer that goes in their backpack?
