That’s right.  Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, arguable the richest man in the galaxy, philanthropist extraordinaire, has joined the ranks of tweeters.  So, Bill can let us know what’s going on 145 characters at a time.  Can I ask a question: what is the point of personal Twitter accounts?

I mean, corporate twitter accounts I can understand.  Businesses can tease the public with upcoming product news and release dates.  But what can you share from a personal standpoint?  Is anyone’s life changed forever knowing Bill was working on his foundation letter when he tweeted?  Does getting an update from Ashton saying he and Demi are ordering wine with dinner make your life better?  Can someone tell me what value personal Twitter accounts have?

No, we’re not talking about the Sopranos! We’re talking about the new problematic search engine Bing! Yes, Microsoft has put another stellar product out to the masses. The search engine is coming under fire for it’s unique ability to play videos from the search browser so the user never has to leave the search page.

The interesting thing is, it allows people to view porn without actually going to the site. This will circumvent most net nannies or parental control programs. It will also leave no trace of a URL for parents to track. We’ll see what Microsoft does in the next few days to address the growing concerns over this issue.

This is great news for windows mobile and iphone users. Although Google has cornered the market with their G1 device with its automatic sync technology with their Google accounts. Google has purchased licencing agreements from Microsoft to allow the use of active sync to aid in setting up syncing capabilities with windows mobile phones and iPhones. Is it just me or is the thought of Google partnering in any way with Microsoft a scary thought?

Windows 7

Just found this little write up on the far upcoming Windows 7, at least that’s what it is called so far.  It seems Microsoft doesn’t want to admit Vista failures but is quickly moving onto the next operating system as soon as possible.  Now I personally believe Vista has really matured and is actually a nice operating system.  Most of the issues I had were with older devices, but I blame the manufacturers for not updating or creating proper drivers.  Regardless, I look forward to the new upcoming Windows 7, more so because I believe Microsoft is really on the defense and will start hammering out some quality and innovative stuff… I hope!
