With all the rumors concerning Verizon and the iPhone leading nowhere, you would think that these rumors wouldn’t have legs to stand on. Well, someone is resurrecting the iPhone rumor with T-Mobile this time. This might make some sense. T-Mobile is already touting a 4G network, and if you live in highly populated areas, T-Mobile is a viable wireless option. I live in the country, so getting T-Mobile out here doesn’t make sense since the signal is no good.

According to a new study, social media is more a buzz about Apple, the new iPhone, and the privacy issues on Facebook more than the oil spill. I can understand why a little. After we voice our opinion on the efforts to clean it up, what more is there to say or do. On the other hand, I don’t want to see BP slack off because people are not talking about this. They need to clean this mess up and we need to keep the pressure on them.

AT&T is rolling out some new plans regarding data consumption on their smart phones. Before, you paid $30 and could dowload as much data as you wanted. Now, you will have to choose. You can pay $25 for 2GB of data, or you can pay $15 for 200 megabytes. AT&T claims the 200 MB is enough for most customers, so the price of owning and using an iPhone should decrease for most people.

Well, you can cancel any dreams of having a Verizon iPhone anytime soon. It has been verified that the original contract for exclusive rights to the iPhone Apple had with AT&T was until 2012. Which absolutely stinks since AT&T’s has the lowest customer satisfaction rating of all the major carriers. Some are speculating that the recent iPad launch may have given Apple an opportunity to revisit this exclusive contract, but no details as to whether it will be shorter or longer has been divulged. If you know me and my attitude toward AT&T, I am definitely pulling for shorter.

Well, this is good news for me if no one else. My wife loves the iPhone, but I prefer Verizon’s network and quality. So, for the longest time, we’ve had two separate cellular accounts in the house with not a break in site. Now comes news that Apple is working on an iPhone that will work with Verizon’s towers. I don’t know what the hold up has been but all I can say is “Hallelujah!!” Get a few more details here.

Oh, those silly Silicon Valley Boys.  I guess Apple and Google are starting to get into the heated argument ring with each other.  Apple is miffed that Google is promoting the Droid which resembles the iPhone in a number of ways and Google is irked that Apple appears to be trying to shut Google out of the mobile web market.  Personally, I think both companies need a little reality check.  Apple needs to free themselves from the exclusive contract with AT&T so that Verizon customers can have an iPhone.  In this age of technology and expense, entering into an exclusive agreement with a company limits your sales.  If AT&T was hoping Verizon would go away, the strategy of having the iPhone exclusively didn’t seem to work.

A new texting app came out for the iPhone that deletes the messages from the person’s phone.  “Tiger Text,” that’s what it’s called, stores text on a server for a certain amount of time and then erases it from the texting server.  The reason this works is because the actual message is stored on the server, not the recipient’s phone.  Of course, people are thinking about how this would have kept Tiger Woods in the clear.  So, now the iPhone tagline could be:

“Cheating on your spouse just got easier.”

With the demand for the iPhone 3Gs AT&T has recognized growing grumbles about the upgrade pricing. It seems as though customer’s close to reaching their qualifying status were not getting the best prices. Well they will now get the best pricing if the are currently within 3 months of their contract date. This will be a huge win for AT&T since there is nothing out right now to directly complete with the iPhone. Until the G2 comes out, this is it!

so, who got the new iPhone 3GS? I’m just wondering if this one is really worth the upgrade. Several new applications but seriously? The iPhone 2 just came about several months back? It makes me wonder if Apple thinks their phones only have a life span of about 5 months because the technology hasn’t gotten so much better that it warrants a new phone.

Apple unleashes the iGlove into the world! Huh? Now, seriously this may be the coolest thing on the market even if it looks like a Nintendo controller from the 80′s. I wonder if this is the generation one product that might take market share from the Wii.

I’m left to wonder though, if this glove is aimed at making the use of heat/impulse touch screens easier to use (example being the iPhone) then why don’t they just build the phone and interface into the glove! Gives new meaning to talk to the hand doesn’t it! Personally, I don’t see this product surviving in the market place but it does look cool.
