Toyota can’t buy a break these days. First, the recall of over 2 million Toyotas for accelerator issues is a major blow to the Japanese auto-maker. Then reports start coming out about the Prius’ brake issues. Ouch. Now, there’s a report that Toyota is looking into complaints about the power steering on their most popular model, the Corolla. Aye Carumba! What’s next?
Toyota is voluntarily recalling nine models of their vehicles to fix faulty accelerator issues. The recall will include 2.3 million cars. If you own a Toyota, take a look at the slideshow in foxnews.com here to see if your Toyota is one of the recalled models. I know this is not really a IT thing, but I wanted to get the word out to people.
A new year has started and the fun of predicting what the future holds is upon us. The folks at inhabitat.com had some of their brightest minds offer some 2010 predictions. One editor, Sarah Rich, talks about how the invention of the digital tablet will affect the way we as a society consume media. If you read my previous post here, you’ll know what I think of these. I’m no great thinker, but I do hope Ms. Rich is off a little in her prediction on this one.
I saw this looking through cnet.com and immediately put it on my Christmas list for this year and next.
Not only can you load up to 32 GB of song files, it has a built in receiver for FM radio signals. Now, say what you will about including all your favorite songs, but sometimes listening to the radio is a pleasant diversion. It also supports Wi-Fi connectivity, so it can support live video streaming services from any number of sites. This truly could be the ultimate portable entertainment unit.
Going on a short little trip and gotta pack light so I’m grabbing my Canon camera, money clip wallet and a few clothing items and heading to San Fransisco for the weekend. Obviously with San Fran being one of the most wired cities, I’ll be posting as if I never left but just in case of a glitch, I’ll be back by Monday. Have a great weekend!
