As I’m sure many of you know, Apple’s iPhone 4 came out last week. It’s been reviewed to death, discussed so much, and has a pretty significant buzz around it.  So, the awesome guys at Blendtec decided to capitalize on all the buzz by putting it in their famous blender as part of their wildly popular Will It Blend series on YouTube. The results are found below:

With all the rumors concerning Verizon and the iPhone leading nowhere, you would think that these rumors wouldn’t have legs to stand on. Well, someone is resurrecting the iPhone rumor with T-Mobile this time. This might make some sense. T-Mobile is already touting a 4G network, and if you live in highly populated areas, T-Mobile is a viable wireless option. I live in the country, so getting T-Mobile out here doesn’t make sense since the signal is no good.

AT&T is rolling out some new plans regarding data consumption on their smart phones. Before, you paid $30 and could dowload as much data as you wanted. Now, you will have to choose. You can pay $25 for 2GB of data, or you can pay $15 for 200 megabytes. AT&T claims the 200 MB is enough for most customers, so the price of owning and using an iPhone should decrease for most people.

Well, this is good news for me if no one else. My wife loves the iPhone, but I prefer Verizon’s network and quality. So, for the longest time, we’ve had two separate cellular accounts in the house with not a break in site. Now comes news that Apple is working on an iPhone that will work with Verizon’s towers. I don’t know what the hold up has been but all I can say is “Hallelujah!!” Get a few more details here.

If you have a smart phone like the iPhone or a Blackberry that has internet access, and if your phone is capable of picking up wi-fi, companies are asking you to utilize that instead of the towers. The reason for this? Free wi-fi hotspots are becoming more prevalent and it also eases the amount of traffic the towers have to handle. So, you get to surf the net in more places quicker and the guy next to you can make his call with less interference.

Oh, those silly Silicon Valley Boys.  I guess Apple and Google are starting to get into the heated argument ring with each other.  Apple is miffed that Google is promoting the Droid which resembles the iPhone in a number of ways and Google is irked that Apple appears to be trying to shut Google out of the mobile web market.  Personally, I think both companies need a little reality check.  Apple needs to free themselves from the exclusive contract with AT&T so that Verizon customers can have an iPhone.  In this age of technology and expense, entering into an exclusive agreement with a company limits your sales.  If AT&T was hoping Verizon would go away, the strategy of having the iPhone exclusively didn’t seem to work.

I believe the old adage that money doesn’t grow on trees, but nobody ever said anything about organic iPhones.  This little device is available from Think Geek and actually a charging station for your wireless devices. The artificial grass is there for the aesthetic touch of green for your office.  I can just see someone having to explain to their kids that planting a cell phone in the ground won’t make more grow.

A new texting app came out for the iPhone that deletes the messages from the person’s phone.  “Tiger Text,” that’s what it’s called, stores text on a server for a certain amount of time and then erases it from the texting server.  The reason this works is because the actual message is stored on the server, not the recipient’s phone.  Of course, people are thinking about how this would have kept Tiger Woods in the clear.  So, now the iPhone tagline could be:

“Cheating on your spouse just got easier.”

Even though it’s a little late, I do hope everyone had a happy holiday weekend.  I hope you got a chance to visit loved ones and spend sometime making new memories.  I have to say that my wife and I spent the day with her parents and aunt.  My mother-in-law and aunt gave each other charging stations for their iPhones.  The funny thing was that neither obviously knew the other was getting it for them.  We laughed about that for a good 5 minutes.

Well, I hope everyone has a Happy New Year, but please be safe when celebrating.
