Can't Stop Geeking

I thought this was great travel book geared towards those who want to be educated on their travels. It has a ton of destinations that will fascinate even the most die hard geek on or off of the planet! The Geek Atlas, you should give it a quick view and maybe plan your next trip around it!

Is anyone developing Android software to post outside of the Google market place? I’m very leery of anyone doing this? If they can’t get it approved by Google is it safe to be used on your device? I guess I know that good developers might just choose not to submit to Google for personal reasons but it just seems sketchy that they wouldn’t. Any thoughts on this?

Wow! Western digital has announced a 750 GB and a 1 TB hard drive that comes in at a whopping 2.5″ in size! It’s capable of a 3 MB transfer rate. This is by far a monster and alone in its class right now! It’s a worth upgrade for anyone who stores large files such as music or movies! Should be a pure winner this year to say the least!

When the economy hit I got worried that I would be out of a job soon. Then, things started to pick up a bit around here. Now all of a sudden a lot of big projects are on hold and I’m finding a lot more free time in my daily life. I’m starting to get scared again. I really hope this all gets fixed pretty soon!

Anyone notice how big Google is really getting? First mobile phones, next their own operating system and now they are putting out applications that will put other industries to task. For example, they are releasing an application that will simply take revenue away from mobile carriers. If someone did this to them they would smack them hard and make sure they felt it for a long time. Just seems like maybe they forgot the little guy!

On the eve of the Space center admitting to losing the tapes of the original moon landing, the space shuttle finally lifted off into space. I was beginning to think this was never going to happen. Does anyone else think we didn’t go to the moon when we said we did? We were in such a rush to beat Russia to the moon it’s easy to think that it really didn’t happen. We had the technology to fake it. It wouldn’t suprize me if we ever found out that it was faked!

With the newest candidate for the Supreme Court going under the gun it’s interesting to see how the internet has affected the process. With information available before it actually happens people are free to make their opinions without the filter of the media. This is one of the most contested nominations and I think it has to do with the fact that there is such openness around her judging history. It will be interesting to see how the internet becomes more of an important part of these types of processes in the future.

It’s been crazy down in Florida. I’m starting to think the shuttle will never launch again! This is the 4^th time they’ve scrapped the flight to a multitude of reasons. You’d think after all of this time we’d be able to shoot a shuttle into space when it’s raining. Wait, we still can’t play baseball in the rain so I guess it is too much to ask to be able to play astronaut in the rain!

With Microsoft’s venture away from Vista it’s clear to see why they would want to bring out a new version of their Microsoft Office. Their current version is lackluster and not user friendly to say the least. In-fact, it feels like a failed attempt to mimic a MAC. With that, I think that Office Mac is actually better so I’m all for Office 10 to come out! It can’t be worse then what we have now!
