I was approached by my managers manager about this job position. Apparently they haven’t filled it yet and they “think” I’d be perfect for the sport. I’m starting to feel the pressure that they ‘really” want me to think about moving to the Linux spot. Ugh, I already said I didn’t want it but I’m starting to think if I don’t take it I’ll be hurting myself in the long run. The job knowledge would be a good idea and would make me harder to get rid of if we ever downsize but I just don’t think I’ll enjoy the job…
Wow, for a minute I thought that I had cracked open the family album but nope it’s another website dedicated to the ills of humn behavior…the family photo! You’ll send hours on this site just laughing at people. However, just keep in mind the family photos in your closet!
I just grew a backbone. The extra money wasn’t going to be worth the change in lifestyle and I feel I’ll still be able to reach my goals of moving up within the next 12 months. When I do move up the compensation I’ll receive will be much better then the Linux job so I just grew a back bone and told my supervisor why I didn’t want to take the job. He seemed okay with it but I’m sure he was not happy. We have a shortage of people who can do the job. They might have to go outside of the company and hire out.
We’ve opened up a Linux department and I’ve been offered a job. unfortunately I don’t know much about Linux and the hours will suck. I guess it’s for the west coat centers and I’d have to work later swing shifts and be on call a lot of the time. The money is good but I’m just really not interested. However, it would be a good way for me to get to a position that I am interested in so it would bebeneficial for me to go to that department for a while…HMMMM, I just too sure about this one!
I just thought I’d send out an update on what we decided to do for my pregnant office buddy! The group decided to spend in both places because they need it! We like to watch out after our own and we’ve decided on buying maternity clothes and baby clothes for the family. I’ve also decided that my taste in clothes is not the same as anyone else’s so I’ve delegated the duty of picking out the gifts to another co-worker!
This isn’t really tech related but this is why I don’t fly. What goes up, must come down…just all depends on what brings it down!
Many countries like China have restrictions on automobiles that make it harder for people to own vehicles to commute on. This electric motorcycle is not only cool, it will lower the imprint we leave on our environment. The video also states that it costs about 1 cent per mile to use. That’s awesome! Take some time and watch the video on this machine!
Hmmm, Google is improving their “smarter search engine” and I already thought the current search process was okay. Somehow I think this will hurt smaller businesses that already spend a fortune to be found online. I know there is no simple way to do things but there has got to be a way for smaller businesses to get their name out there and their website found to help drive the economy. It seems like the same businesses pop up whenever you search for something.
A close friend of mine let the office know that she is expecting! I know her and her husband have been trying for a while so it’s a welcome bit of news for everyone! we are a close group of people so we want to do something nice for her. She’s an entry level tech and her husband has been out of work for a while now so I know they are struggling to make their bills. I suggested that we all go in together and get her some maternity clothes but some of the people think it would be better to buy baby clothes. Any suggestions?
Okay, so I’ve been talking to a lot of people and really reading up on this electric car VS hybrid car deal. I’m starting to think that a hybrid will not save me any money or really do much to lower the foot print I leave. Since all of my driving is city driving (lower than 40 mph) a hybrid would likely run on more gas then electric and a full battery powered car might also have issues and need charging more due to stop and go traffic.
